What are some of those movies that you always watch, no matter how good or bad it is, no matter how many times you've seen it? You know the ones, if you flip past it on TV on a Saturday afternoon, you just end up watching it, even if you hadn't planned on watching it.

Here is a list of some "classic Saturday afternoon" flicks of mine.

1. The Goonies
2. Any Back to the Future movie
3. Predator
4. Office Space
5. Harry Potter & the Socerers Stone
6. Weird Science
7. The Blues Brothers
8. The Great Outdoors
9. Uncle Buck (UB!!)
10. Searching for Bobby Fisher

You don't like Howard the Duck??? It's not the greatest movie ever, but I simply cannot see why the entire world HATES this movie. I think it's entertaining, funny, touching, the special effects were pretty good, especially for its time. Why am I the only person who likes this movie?

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but it reminded me of something my wife tends to do. If we're channel surfing and one of "those" movies comes on (like Breakfast Club or Sixteen Candles) she HAS to watch it... Even though the movie has already been on for half an hour and we have the DVDs! Why is she compelled to watch it just because its on TV? :D

    Later,

OK..."Midway" was on the history channel last night...came on at midnight. Did I watch it?....sure did! I remember watching this one in the mid 70 at the theater with the NEW "Sensurround" which may have been the first attempt to use subwoofers in a theater setting. I've watched it many times since then, although it's been a couple of years since I've seen it. This is exactly what gmorris was talking about.

Breakfast Club is also super great. John Bender was my hero from when I was a kid.
