Kia Optima is a heck of a nice car for the money with a great warranty. Can get it all gussied up with a peppy 2.0T that can run on 87 octane if ya choose.
Drove a Malibu with a 2.0T. Not bad.
Haven't looked at Kia, still can't find a comfy fit for my 6'6" frame.
Don't really want a SUV. -

Drove a Kia Cadenza yesterday. Not my favorite but not the worse.
Tried an Impala..blah, then a Malibu with 2.0 turbo.
Too old school for a four banger...
If it weren't for the CVT, I'd just get the Maxima and be done.

Have you checked out any Lexus cars? Maybe even Camry

Closest thing I can think of to the Q45 cruiser these days outside of Infiniti would be a Genesis G80 with the 5.0 V8 or the G90 as a step up. Most competitors have gone to a smallish turbo engine with direct injection. Another thought is to take a look at a used Q56.

Meant the Q70 or Q70L above with the 5.6 liter V8, not a Q56!

Drove a TLX, nice ride but not a lot of leg room for me.
Can be a V6, it's for the wife.
