Dsb1 sound bar turns off when the volume is turned up

Whether i am in Bluetooth mode or have the aux connected. it seems every time i have the volume more than 3/4 the way up it automatically shuts itself off. Anyone know why?

    Perhaps as a protection feature? If the output power of your source is higher than the input power of your sound bar, it will try to protect itself by shutting itself down.
    Basically, let’s say the needed input power to receive maximum output is two volts, but the output of your source is 2.5 volts. When that happens, you end up with the maximum volume before reaching 100% on the knob/remote.

    That's what i believed it was. But i don't understand how to resolve the issue if i'm running the factory power cable. I could up the cable to a aftermarket power cable, but i don't really wanna fry anything.
