Woodward Dream Cruise 2018

This Saturday! One of the largest (if not the largest) cruising events on the planet! From Pontiac MI, south along Woodward Avenue, to Detroit (8 mile road). I look forward to this event every year, been going since it's inception in 1994.
Over 40,000 cars from classics to the exotic, and 1.5 million spectators!
Sponsored by Ford, as GM gave it up a few years back. Fitting though for the 50th anniversary of the Stang this year!
Every community along the route has a special event scheduled for that weekend.
Here's a pic of Woodward in between 13 and 14 mile road. 13 mile is considered the epicenter.
Friday night, the Mrs and I are participating in the Berkeley Classic Car parade. 12 mile road is closed off from Woodward to a few miles west. We'll be in the 59 Bel Air. Afterwards we'll cruise a little, set up some lawn chairs and watch the cruisers! Oh yeah, smoke a few cigars too!
Saturday typically it is so jammed that you have to get there early, and pick a community to hangout. Otherwise it's slow going, aka grid lock at times. Birmingham is where we'll be, the location of the Chevrolet display. We'll take the 04 SSR that day. At least for the early round. We live so close that we can run home and switch if we feel like it.
I love this event such that I am on vacation beginning tomorrow through the rest of the week. Cruising along Woodward is popular all summer, but it really heats up beginning in August. We were out there last Saturday, got some dinner and cruised up and down. Lot's of cars out there.
In fact, last Saturday they had the annual Roadkill Nights event in Pontiac. They actually closed Woodward down completely and set up an 1/8th mile drag strip! What a spectacle!
Beginning tomorrow evening, I'll be out there every night. Cruising, hanging out with the buddies, watching the cruisers, smoking cigars, etc.
Can't forget about the Harley's! Lots of bikes out there too. My Harley buddies and I will be out there one evening or two. No Mrs though, as she refused to ride on the back of the bike!
Automotive/Motorcycle debauchery at it's finest! Maybe some fellow Polkies will be out there!

2014 would have been the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang.

Looks like a great time.
Wish I could go, but it would be a very long drive for me besides the fact I don't have an muscle car for the event.
