I recently purchased a projector (Sony HS20) and have built myself an acousticly transparent screen
using a fabric called Coated Celtic Cloth from Dazian.
This screen is in front of all my front speakers and I think it would improve the soundstage if all the
    front speakers are identical.
If I'm able to replace my current center with an RT800i, I would have 5 RT800i's (front l/r/c and
rear l/r) and two fxi50's (couldn't find the 500i's) as surrounds, which should sound quite nice :D
I actually like the CS400i, I think it's a very nice center, I just like the idea of having all RT800i's in
    the front.

    piet,
Sounds like a great set up. Since Sony recommends 5 identical speakers for SACD-Multichannel playback, you're just about ready to rock.

BTW, Excellant choice on the HS20!

Piez - Look like a great setup, and plan of attack you have under way.

Sony, and a host of others, recommend alot of things, that aren't exactly neccesary....but determine what is best for your application.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I tried a RT800 for my center a couple of years ago. It didn't sound even close to as good as the CS400. You might want to try one of your 800's on its side for a center before you buy one. Polk makes their centers to be placed horizontallly, the 800's are meant to be vertical. I lost the imaging when it was placed on its side. Just my opinion! Jeff

Wasn't planning on putting it on it's side.
Currently I have the center on top of my tv, but I'm going to move the tv out of the room and want a floorstanding speaker to replace the center.

Then again you could by a pair and have dual centers or a 6th to use in the back. Also much easier to deal with at resale time.

My local CC had some open box rti70's.
Managed to get one for only $119.
I just was not able to find any 800i's anywhere,
and I think the rti70 will match pretty well.
Will still check ebay etc. for any 800i's that might
show up, but I'm sure I'll manage with this set-up.
Going to hang on to the cs400i, will probably use
    it in the bedroom.
The only thing that remains now is dragging my
175lbs tv out my livingroom and swap it with my
tv in the bedroom (small 20").
This 20" is going into the corner of the living room
which forces me to trade my SVS 20-39 PC+ for a
PB2+ so I don't have to put the tv up so high :D
I have a very intelligent wife so she completely
    understands :)

One more thing; I'm really pleasantly suprised by
the good nature of most people on this forum,
there are several other forums I frequent and I
must say this is by far the most pleasant one.

    Thanks Voorhees.

That's pretty funny, I've been checking Ebay practically daily for the last two weeks,
for some reason I never saw this listing.
I don't know about shipping from Canada though,
will probably cost quite a bit.
    Might check it out.
    Thanks again.
By the way, somebody is offering a pair of 800's see:
