Yesterday, at Northwestern University, my wife, officially became Dr. Mendoza Ph. D.

It was a long journey, a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and many trials and errors went into this degree. I am very proud of this Dr. lady for all of her accomplishments. In addition to earning her degree, she was also able to secure her own funding and she headed up several outreach programs. Her lifelong dream of earning her Ph. D. culminated in the hooding ceremony yesterday at Northwestern and I couldn’t be happier or more proud of her. :)

    Not that kind of doctor. My wife is now a Ph. D. (ala @mhardy6647) :) Whereas @Joey_V is a medical doctor.

    Thanks! I am so happy for her, there really are no words to describe how I’m feeling at the moment. As one of her PI’s remarked after the ceremony, she (the PI) could see me smiling from the front row throughout the entire ceremony.

    It’s funny you should mention the NIH grant as she is working on one right now! :o
