I have not had any ongoing problem with my MagnifiMax SR.

I had snap/crackle/pop from sub or rear speakers, but v85 or v91 update corrected it.

Yes, if you don't connect by wire, and you're not doing the Google Home app, you'll be off-the-grid. My SR started with pops, so if I didn't connect somehow, I wouldn't know if there was an update to correct the problem.

4K pass through isn’t working properly and I have HDMI 4K cables for the going to and from the sound bar.

I'm getting a weird 'low bitrate' / static / overly processed kind of sound to all movies being played since 91 update. It sounds horrible, have reverted to using TV's inbuilt speakers which don't have the problem.
