Here are some photos of my new listening area, it's bigger than the previous room so I can bring my Martin Logan CLS II/IIa speakers out of storage.c5fi8s5nh1kj.jpg

Thank you! This is a new (to us) house we've moved to and one of the important features was the sound space. We had some definite criteria and this place fit it perfectly.

Yea, it's great having records and tapes on the same floor as the turntable. I can use a roll around cart to load up a tape deck, roll it over to the system and play a tape with no fuss. Then roll it into the work room to work on it instead of lugging it up to a second floor from the basement in the old place.

Very nice and tasteful. Lots of great vintage pieces. I see the Janis gets pride of place between the ML's.

Ken, that is very nice. I bet it is a good space after some mod issues. :)

One question about the wall behind the speakers. It reminds me of a Japanese design, but, if so, would seem to be wrong from an acoustic view. What is the wall design?

What a great looking room and thanks for posting the pics! Did I miscount or did I actually see 6 or 7 reel to reels?

I had a neighbor that had something very similar. I believe they were called shoji panels. They were sliding doors with glass in them, instead of rice paper. They were super cool looking, but their house burned to the ground. Not due to the shoji panels.

Those are real shoji screens that can slide out of the way. Behind them is another area with shelves on either side. I've put my collection of Audio Amateur magazines and some audio components. Then there's a sliding pocket door that leads to another room where I keep the air compressor, air tank and coil of plastic hose for the turntable. This is also where the model train layout goes.
