Tequila is my liquor of choice. First margarita goes down fairly fast, then a second, or maybe straight to sipping then. Once I get to sipping, things can escalate if I'm not careful.
A friend turned me onto Hornitos Black and I only drink my tequila straight now. I'm sure there are better tequilas, but maybe not at that price point.
I have bad memories of Hornitos, evey year at deer camp a buddy brings a bottle of Black and a bottle of Silver. The best thing to do after a night of Hornitos's, is get your deer first thing the next morning so you can nap in the fetal position on the bottom of the deer stand the rest of the day.
I'm glad it's only a once a year thing. I do enjoy the Crown Royal Apple on the rocks those go down real good while enjoying the tunes.Home Theater

On a humid 90 degree day working on the back of a paving machine easily a gallon of ice water gets chugged down before noon.

I enjoy a nice glass of Cab for probably 15-20 minutes each glass.
Beer I usually drink one in about the same time or a little less. I also don't drink a lot per sitting. 1-3 glasses of wine and I'm good and depending on how heavy the beer is about the same 1-3 beers.Dan

Back in the day, after 3 drinks (the forth would take me to a freedom realm), I'd be off the wagon and wanting to drink and party till the sun came up the next morning.
I don't remember if I ever saw the sun come up once.
I would drink about 2+ an hour. Like a former member said, I didn't like the beers or drinks to get warm either!Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -

Other times, a nice Sol after a long day of work, or working outside, or back home after a motorcycle ride - smooth and goes down like water, in a matter of minutes. Usually cut myself off there since I pretty much get hangovers the same night now I disabled signatures. -
Same exact thing happened to me. It's really not that unusual to trip and faceplant onto a nursing mother. It happens, and then you get on with your day.

FYI, the Hornitos Black is not 'black' from barrel aging. They add food coloring and caramel flavoring to get it that way 
Hornitos, and really all Sauza products, use a non-traditional, industrial-type process to make their tequila. I am personally more of a purist, but I have to pay more to get it!
The MOST IMPORTANT thing to look for when buying tequila are the words "100% Agave" on the bottle. If you don't see 100%, that means it's a "mixto", so only 51% agave distillate, and the rest probably from sugar distillate. This will give you a nasty hangover. Yes, Santo Mezquila is his latest venture, partnering with Adam Levine. Even though it's touted as 100% agave, I haven't seen any information citing their manufacturing processes. Since it's not classified as either tequila or mezcal, there are no regulations they have to follow...a little scary. Toby Keith's mezcal, Wild Shot, is awful.
There are several nice brands of tequila out there right now. The problem is random distribution, so it varies by state as to what is available. One good brand that has pretty good distribution at this point is Fortaleza http://tequilafortaleza.com They use old-school processes in making their juice. Well I have not had any since Sammy owned it, it was darn good at that point. I had not realized it had bounced so many times... too bad.
The Mezquila is no where to be found in my area. I have asked for it but I guess all the local distributors are all tied up in court to see who will distribute the darned stuff. This has happened so many times in my area that there have been times that the particular alcohol never makes it at all.

With a celebrity endorsement (or ownership), things often change once said celebrity cashes-in and sells out. This happened with Vince Neil's tequila as well, Tres Rios. Your wrong about Hornitos. It is 100% blue agave and actually black gets its color from aging in used bourbon barrels. Also fyi, Sauza gold and blanco are 100% blue agave even though not advertised. The reason, the agave plant is quite abundant now. There are more 100% blue agave tequilas than ever now. Where in the world did you get your misinformation about Sauza?

I dont know a lot about tekillya. But this is always my go to for margaritas. Thats about 99% of my tequila use is in margaritas.
If they dont have that ill do 1800 Silver. For some reason a only like the clear tequilas.
