White woofers... yea baby.
Here is a set I just got a couple of months ago. They sound fantastic too. RSL3300 I think.
I've had sets of those Kenwoods I think they were with those 14",15" or 16" woofers in them.
Man I wish I still had them too!

I love me some white woofers baby.

Just upgraded these "white woofers" (actually, full range) this afternoon. Fostex FE166En 6.5" full range replaced the original FE166 on the Cain & Cain Abby. Breaking them in of course, but I do already hear improvement in the mids.

I'd sure like to hear those!
Is there a transmission line set-up inside that tower that goes up and then down to the port? Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them. -
No transmission line. They are a 1/4-wave Voight pipe design and actually produce fairly decent bass--although I wish I had picked up the Bailey sub (pictured below) with them 15 years ago.

I see the triangular shape to them now. They sure are BEAUTIFUL!
Similar to DCM's Timeframe design I think. And these Timeframe's bass is NICE coming from just one woofer.

That style of enclosure (TQWT) can also be folded to look more "normal" -- just sayin'.

How are the Abby pipes stuffed, if I might ask? What kind of material and how much/where? Stuffing is part of the black art of a proper pipe enclosure (or so I have read).
And... maybe too early to tell, but are the "En" drivers less zingy than the FE166(E)? One of the northern New England gurus had a pair of Abbys in his kitchen driven by an MC225. I generally found those drivers to be a little -- piercing relative to my poor ol' ears.

Because I had too many "normal" looking speakers, I was drawn to the Abby first by their appearance and wanting a single driver pairing with some SEOTL amps I was building. À chacun ses goûts.
The Abby are tightly stuffed with dense, folded foam above the driver mount. There is some thin poly sheeting directly behind the driver, nothing lower in the enclosure.
I never noticed the zinginess you've described. The E variant was lacking to my ears in the upper mid range. There seems to be a bit more detail there with the En. So, far only 6 hours or so of breakin.
