Better cable???

I am kicking around an idea of making some DIY video cables.
I am wondering who makes a better quality stock. I hear (and read) good things about both Belden and Canare. Does anyone have opinions on these?
I don't want to limit myself either of these brands though, if I don't have to. Are there any other suggestions for a quality manufacturer??
Thanks,
Anthony

There is no advantage to using Belden over Canare, just get whats cheaper between the two. They are the two most used DIY cable manufacturers period.
The connectors should be considered just as important in that project, so don't get cheap in that area. Scosche, WBT, Vampire, Dayton are all good choices.
I think DIY is a great project and idea, take your time, and the results are damn near a given. The cables will provide fairly predictable, reliable results if constructed correctly.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
Thanks.
How about solder vs. compression type connections? I don't know how good my soldering skills are... -
I perfer compressionDan
My personal quest is to save to world of bad audio, one thread at a time. -
