Up for sale is this matching pair of B&K gear. Both pieces are in excellent shape, you'd be hard pressed to find a scratch on either unit. They both have original boxes/packaging, manuals, remote for the ref.20, and power cords.
The Reference 20 is a 5 channel pre/pro but it does really well for 2 channel listening especially at its price point.
The Reference 7250 amp is a 5 channel high current amp which I'm sure alot of guys here are familiar with. It is basically the same as the reference 200.5 amp except instead of the balanced inputs this one has line level adjustment for each channel. This is a beast of an amp that also does great at 2 channel listening. I had a hard time picking between it and my Reference 200.2 for my stereo setup.
Specs:
Power rating: 8 ohms 200 watts @ 1 kHz
4 ohms 375 watts @ 1 kHz
Damping factor 450
Current (peak to peak) 75 Amps
Slew rate 14 V / usec
Dynamic headroom 1.2 dB
S/N (A-weighted) 95 dB
Voltage gain 28
Line voltage 120/220/240 VAC switchable
Dimensions (O.A.) 17"(w) X 19.25"(d) X 7.25"(h)
Weight 70 lb
Im asking $800 plus shipping for the pair or I am always willing to meet up in the Baltimore to Philly area.

I am so tempted to buy this amp and sell my other 3 amps. Is it common ground so it can be used with SDA's?
-
Yup, listening to it with my 1.2tls as i type this!
-
Nice! Let me do some research and thinking.

Danny, i have not gone through the entire manual yet. But off the top of your head, do you know is bass and treble are adjustable?

Yes they should be...its been a little while since i used that pre/pro so i don't remember off the top of my head how to change it unfortunately. I normally ran it in stereo direct mode so I didn't use the tone controls but a buddy of mine borrowed it a little while back and he could of adjusted some of the settings. I'm almost certain there is a way to adjust it on the fly though. I would definitely recommend doing a factory reset and then setting it up fresh for your setup. And i know the manual can be a little lengthy for some of the B&K pre/pros. Sorry i don't have more info off the top of my head. -
No problem. I did do as you said the factory reset as soon as i plugged it in. Just have not had much time to play with it yet. And yes the manual is like reading a Quantum Physics paper. Lol
Thanks again for a perfect piece. It does not even look as if you had ever used it. Even the rca jacks are flawless. -
Amp is still available. Lots of interest but no commitment to buy yet!

Hi.
Do you know if the control muting on the 7250 works with a non-b&k preamp?
Thanks--
Ittai -
I think it will work with other preamps but don't quote me on that. Someone else on the forum might know for sure. I haven't been using the control muting and when i did, it was with a b&k pre.
-
I am wondering if I can get a Marantz SR5011, acting as a pre/pro, to remote-control the amp. Anyone have any insight?--
Ittai -
Looking at some docs online, I think it would work.
So, I'm interested in the b&k 7250. What now?--

Shoot me a pm please
