Sources for granite pieces?

I'd like to get a couple granite pieces cut (apprx 12" x 16" x 1" thick) to set my speakers on to get a little more height for the tweeters.

Know any sources for smaller pieces?

    when we remodeled our kitchen about 4 years ago, I just asked to have two I think 10x12 pieces cut. Since I had just dropped about $5500, they threw them in for free. All granite places have tons of scrap, they probably won't give it to you for free if your not buying a large piece but it shouldn't be too pricey either.

    If you were closer I would let you borrow my pieces to try out, I'm not using them...I would ship them to you but I think it'd be cost prohibitive and it looks like you want slightly bigger pieces anyway...

    kitchen counter top installers, but for sound reasons i would go wood.
    check bed,bath and beyond for their large acacia wood butcher blocks. you can use your 20% off coupons.

    I went with a local kitchen/bath countertop fabricator. They cut them to my demisions but I was also having a peice cut for the top of my audio stand. Think I paid $500 in total. You should be able to see them in the picture attached but they match the carpet pretty well.

    How well does a flat wood or marble board work on carpet? Do you have problems with vibration? I wouldn't think a large surface area on a squishy surface would be good.

    Did anyone think of putting spikes on them?

    I don’t think Steve has carpet...he likes the rubber footers but wants them higher it sounds like...

    My speaks are on tile and a concrete subfloor. Vibration isn't an issue.

    Any granite shop will sell you remnants for cheap. They'll even cut em to size and polish/shape the edges. Mostly they just want to get them out of their shop, as they want to sell entire countertops.

    Found a couple of 12" x 18" x 1" Acacia boards and affixed some small hard rubber feet on the bottoms. Cool. Now the T2's are at 42 1/2"---perfect.
