Magnifi Max SR surrounds issue
Just putting this out there to see if anyone is having issues with the SR surround speakers. I currently am having one of them that is "popping" every now and then. Anyone else? and is there a fix?

Yes,
I have the Magnifi max sr and have noticed high pitched noises(poping) coming from the surround sound speakers.
Seems to happen more when playing content with video(s) -
Glad to know I'm not alone. I can't reproduce it because it just happens intermittently.
What about delays when switching sources (thinking 5-8 seconds)? Or even sound not coming through after a source switch and needing to reboot or fiddle with things to get sound back on? -
Hello,
I'll bring this to Polk's attention. -

Thank you.
Also FYI the sub does have a low scratchy type noise at ver low volumes. not as bad as the SR high frequency noises though. -

Forgot to mention it seems to happen more with Video content.
I have noticed that I need to reboot it sometimes for everything to sync up properly -
Hello,
Sorry this an issue. Polk has responded that there will be a firmware update that will solve this problem. It should happen sometime from the middle to the end of March. -
Thanks Kenneth! Do you know which of the issues it may fix?

Also, just curious. Since there really are no visual waybto see what's going on with this sound bar, either an app, or via the HDMI out on the TV, how would we know if a firmware was available or applied?

@KennethSwauger That firmware update that Polk is going to be pushing out will it be version 79 or 80? Just wondering if I have the latest version as I updated and am still having the issues.

Hello,
If anyone is having this problem send me a PM and let me know. -
Hi I got a replacement and still having the popping and crackling and chirping from the surround speakers.
-
I received the email below from Cust Serv. I don't think the delay acceptable considering the item only has a one year warranty. Thought I'd sahre and get other people's thoughts.
"I have been told that the firmware fix is scheduled for 01-12 weeks from now. We apologize for the inconvenience" -
See my poll and vote. I'm getting pretty choked and it seems I'm not alone

Any luck? -
I'm still having this issue - have Polk provided any further info? Very frustrating to what is otherwise a great product.

Use the google home app to connect the MagniFi Max to your wifi so it can download the latest firmware. (Ensure the wireless subwoofer and wireless surrounds are syncd to the bar).
All issues are resolved once it updates.
