    3rd confession. In 2 days no less, I'm feeling cleansed ...

    I bought this amp from DAK. 200W/channel My first foray into a separate amp/preamp setup. Long gone, but brings back good memories.

    l7nn2dwelxu5.png

    From someone more knowledgeable in Audiogon:
    "Bought in '91 from a DAK catalog, this high resolution amplifier operated in true Class A mode with 8 high power transistors per channel, a high efficient toroidal transformer power supply, computer grade 28,000uf capacitors, and a unique output power switch. This feature allowed the amp to operate in two seperate power levels to match your loudspeaker's capabilities (either 100 watts or 200 watts per channel), and was selectable by its rear mounted switch."

    So I had it hooked up to my very first receiver, Pioneer SX-V500 (80WPC, 8ohms).
    It actually had pre-amp outputs, what are those? Oh !!!
    The bliss of ignorance.

    5yi4mpq9kiwe.png

    I still have that receiver !!!

    And yes my BSR equalizer was part of the setup too !!!

    I can't recall if the SAE amp resulted in the demise of my beloved Colossus speakers. Probably so. Or the spilled beer.

    Confession is great !!!

    You all know the story of the mathematically inclined Native American who loved trigonometry so much that he took the name Sohcahtoa, yes?

    Because:

    Sine = Opposite over Hypotenuse
    Cosine = Adjacent over Hypotenuse
    and
    Tangent = Opposite over Adjacent
