WTB 2 or 3 ch power amp for LSiM home theater

I recently upgraded my home theater and I am running LSiM fronts (707/706) off a Yamaha rx-a 2070. Looking to enter the world of power amplifiers and pick up my first amp, either a 2 ch for my 707’s or a 3 ch to include the 706.

I'm using a Parasound A31 to power my front 703's and 704. They sound great. I was using a Yamaha RX-A2010 for the front 703's then I purchased a Parasound 2250. The sound really opened up. The A31 then took everything to a new level. Parasound amps and LSIM"s are made for one another. Just my 2 cents worth.

Appreciate the input. The A31 is what I would get if money wasn’t an object, but unfortunately that’s out of my price range. I bet it sounds amazing.

Man some of the better amps out there weight 40-80 lbs! Not a problem to ship...However, see what you can find local.... WAIT! you're in LA! There's ALWAYS stuff on CL in LA!

The Parasound 2003A or the Anthem MCA50 I would look at.

Then, the ATI 1505, the Sherwood, and the others.

So many to choose from.

Thanks Walt. Another question for you, with any of these older amps, how do know what the lifespan is on these? What typically goes out on them first and what kind of cost might I be looking at to repair an amp like these? I know that’s kind of hard to answer, but I’m just looking for a general idea.

Most amps can last 15-20 years before needing some work done. Obviously that depends on how they were used, how often, or abused.
