Signa S1 Remote Control

Got this soundbar for Christmas last week and LOVE it- sounds great!

However, the remote control doesn't work- we have to press either the volume up or volume down buttons on the remote 15-20 times before it begins to talk to the soundbar and actually do something.

I've put a brand new/tested working battery and doesn't matter if I'm standing inches away from the soundbar...

I've seen a lot of other posts out there with similar issues with this soundbar, but no solutions.

Any ideas?
