Polk Magnifi One is muted with every remote button push

I’ve had a Polk Magnify One sound bar for just over a year. I love it, fills the room with sound better than the TV speakers. Recently the sound bar will mute itself when any button from the cable tv remote is pushed, when nothing has been pushed for 5 minutes. Pushing another button does not unmute, physically have to get up and push the mute button (to unmute) on the actual sound bar.
When I say it mutes itself. There is no sound coming from the unit. There is a single blinking light on the sound bar.
Occasionally when trying to turn up the volume, the volume will go down instead.
Already tried unplugging everything for 10 minutes.
