I have come across a L.F. 14 Low Frequency Monitor system for sale and was wondering if anybody could tell me what is the going price for them? Also, what speakers would be a good match with it?
Thanks
Thanks

You too!? Just picked one up a few days ago myself. Due to their obscurity, there is no going price. I believe I underpaid for mine, but who knows?

Well it now is a mute point bcus the person just returned my email and stated they already sold it. Hey FestYboy, you didn't happen to buy the one listed on North Jersey Craiglist for $50?

I saw them last night while taking a look. The way people post things without providing a phone, having to email and then on top of that not making it known that they have been sold is very ineffective and frustrating. -
I know the feeling

I am very happy for you FestYboy. According to pitdogg2, it would have been "A STEAL" if you gave up a good portion of your organs!!! LOL, I don't know how this deal compares, but I got my Monitor 10s with a set of stands for $20. I did need to make quite a drive but I think it was a great find. -
THAT'S what I would call a steal, especially if they're cosmetically in good or better shape.

I am not a speaker expert in any shape or form. The Monitor 10s have some cosmetic issues that would probably put at about average for its age. I don't have the L.F. 14 to know its condition but they looked pretty good in the pics. I do know that I wasn't able to find anything on it except that they sold for $600, which is the same what the monitor 10s sold for. You might have gotten the better deal, even though you only bought one, bcuz I think that they are extremely rare and would have a larger demand. So when you apply the laws of economics where you have low supply or No supply in this case and high demand then that equals high price. But that is just a guess on my part. Maybe others know. -
FWIW: The LF14 when I bought it would've been $250 or less -- else I never could have afforded it. I may (should!) have the original receipt someplace. I think I bought the first one Soundscape sold -- certainly one of the first. Not that I remember when... I'd guess 1979, but it could've been '78.

Prices are always all over the place. I've seen prices actually higher than new and sell. For every honest good deal 5 more on the high side that encourage others to ask for more. -
@ultrasoudproductions that LF14 you saw was the one I bought. It was designed to be a single. Though, I'd like to build a clone. It is in good condition for it's age save for the grill which has some sort of liquid stain... (Insert dirty remarks here).

So very true. I am always amazed when sellers at a flea market, ebay or craigslist ask more for a used item than what it actually sells for. But it goes both ways. There are deals where things are given away. -

Now I'm the one that will say "You too!?" one of my speaker grill has issues with a large funny stain. LOL -

Yes, I came across some RTA 12B in Long Island craigslist and I was thinking the same thing. -
Related to the RTA-12, but with wiring/crossover differences and of course the added switchware and binding posts.
I bet the cabinet is the same, I suspect that the Bassive Radiator is the same, and the two midwoofers.
