None of the woofers are frozen. Tweeters weren't working when I hooked it up, but a twist of the fuses woke them up. Unfortunately, didn't get the Peerless tweeters. Got the brushed aluminum Polk SL1000 tweeters. I toned them down a little, and the speakers sound great!

What was the wallet damage if you don't mind me asking?

What were SL1000s doing in 10As?
Seems odd to me, but I am not expert in the Polks made post-1980 or so.

I had 10's with the SL1000. Sounded pretty good to me.

I had 10s back in the mid 80's. Loved the sound but had to change tweeters often. It seemed to me they got changed at some point...

Tweeters I have. Somebody came in late on the auction and jacked price up. Got them for $91. Not complaining.

That is a shame you had to pay so much for those tweeters. I would have given them to you if I had them, but I have already karma'ed the ones I had a while back to a Polk member.

Got the set of 10a speakers, not just the tweeters, for $91!

Ok that's better i thought you lost your freaking mind paying 91$ for a set of SL1000's. -
I should have two SL2000 tweets which work. Haven't checked them for resistance or response to tone generator yet though. Check the P/N you need for the 10s as it is probably asking for a later tweet, 2500 or newer - not sure.
