HTH did the ad agency actually sell this one? Clearly they're marketing to nostalgic grandparents to stock their pantries for grandkids who never visit, not to kids. Everyone knows kids don't go out to play anymore. They play video games about going out to play. And certainly don't pull Radio Flyer wagons full of goodies around to welcome new kids to the neighborhood. Seriously, they collected a baseball glove, skateboard and a comic book to give to the new kid? In what world would this happen?
The best dude though was the poor little kid on the big wheel who saw the welcome convoy and wanted to join in and took off in hot pursuit, without even asking his parents if he could leave the driveway. Come on, anyone who's ridden a bigwheel knows that 1. You don't get instant traction with these things. You have to overcome the burnout-under-torque to gain traction to get moving. Like a train. And 2. His legs would explode to shreds in real life trying to keep up with kids on bikes, and they wouldn't stop to help; they'd leave him in the dust. And since no one in the video had his/her face buried in a cell phone, it means that poor kid wouldn't even have any way to call his parents for help and would be run over by the Good Humor Ice Cream Man. Congratulations, Quaker. You just killed a little kid with thick glasses on a big wheel.
