Hitachi 43" a bad choice?

I've only had this tv for a year and a half and today was watching a movie and the screen dims and and the picture flashes dimmly. Sound still working.

I unplugged it from the surge protector and into the wall and it's doing the same thing, changed inputs with no change, also unplugged all sources and no change.

I was almost certain a got a 5 year replacement plan when I purchased it but cannot find it for the life of me:( like a dope I probably put it some weird-a place I thought I could just put my fingers on but I'm baffled after searching today.... I probably left it in the car that got totalled last year:(

It's a flat screen led. It's nice and has really good picture, just concerned. Do you know what could be the issue?

Do you have it set to auto dim based on ambient light or did that setting get changed... Check your settings

I'm no tech, but it snds to me like there is a voltage issue with the part supplying power to the leds,If you go to you tube and type in the issue you may find more info and videos on the repair and or recommendations if its worth fixing.IMO the quality standards used in tv's today is really quite pathetic with their longevity becoming a prominent gamble

I read that power supply can cause that. I'm really hoping with a stroke of luck the store keeps a record of that plan because I cannot find it anywhere:(

But yea now the same tv is $250 on walmarts website. I still wish I had never gotten rid of my lg.
