Three words my friend.....Interest Free Financing. Music Direct or Audio Advisor. I don't use the 401k loan unless it's an emergency type deal....but that's just me.

Agreed on this, why take 1.5% cut if you can do 0%?

According to my financial advisor, I actually have more money than what I need (in theory) to retire. Like I said I was financially prepared to retire at the end of last year. I have continued to save at the same rate but since I bought another house that put a dent in my free cash reserves. At any rate if I did borrow it is repaid biweekly out of my paycheck and thus reinvested into the same account. Could take that money and retire at any time the only difference would be the payments would convert to monthly from my pension. Although it is not a real plus like with other people's money, I get to pay it back in monopoly money plus interest. In effect, it forces me to save more at a rate that should keep up with inflation.

Derp, argh, nevermind I just died.

Decisions, decisions. I am 67 and know I won't live forever. At this point my health and hearing are fine, so I figured what the heck. I may as well get my final system now and enjoy it. Good on you, you sure got a lot of great feed back..

I'm not saying do it. Just live your life the way you want.

WTF is a "Stable Money fund" ? Money that doesn't grow is money best kept under the mattress. Either loses value by standing still, why let someone else hold it then.

Every time you spend money, for speakers or anything else, your essentially borrowing from yourself. Everyone has different priorities though, you don't need our advice to spend your money. This thread makes no sense to me.

Good advice given in this thread (for the most part o:) )

Enjoy the fruits of your labor.
Don't shoot yourself in the foot in the process (which you obviously aren't), but at the end of your days (hopefully not soon), your last words shouldn't be, "Wait, I have to see what my rate of return is on my portfolio !".

As soon as I finish my compendium of "Womens and How They Work", I plan on publishing "Moneys and How to Make it".
For now, though, I'd recommend that you sink everything that you've got into pork belly futures.
I think that might work. :)

Did I mention enjoy the fruits of your labor ?

I dont do drugs, unless you consider PCP a drug. Personally I like to think of it as a "supplement".
