Best thing for him. He was getting hurt way too much. Needs to stay somewhat healthy to still chase the kids and the hot wifey around.

Agreed. I am not a Cowboy fan, but have always liked him. I am glad he's getting out before he gets killed.

They say he's going to be replacing Phil Simms in the CBS booth for game coverage. Hopefully, that's an upgrade...something about Simms' that I just don't care for.

SAD to see his playing career end, He was very classy about the whole thing. Good luck TR . Just follow what Aikman has done and you will be fine.

Romo is a huge student of the game. His knowledge should give fresher insights than Simms or Aikman. I just hope he quickly evolves into a welcomed cast member and avoids the know-it-all tag. I personally thought that Favre would have made a great color commentator but I guess his ego wouldn't let him play backup to the play by play position.

So glad this did not happen. He was getting more brittle every season. Time to hang out in the booth and take it easy.

    He almost...

    Was his best asset

All kidding aside I would have not minded him coming to Houston for a year or 2.

I wish they got rid of Dan Fouts, especially if he's calling a Raider game.

Awe come on man you don't like Dan. No he is not the best in the booth but he is a great guy.

Romo will be missed in the NFL. He is another QB who should of and could of but like Dan he never got there. I too wish he had another shot with another team, his health is more important than an SB ring.

Now that the Chargers defected to the smog pit I am a free agent fan.

I don't know what he's like on a personal level, but as a broadcaster there is a lot to be desired. I get it that he spent his entire career with the San Diego Chargers (now Los Angeles Chargers) and had a rivalry with the Raiders. However he let's his personal feelings get in the way of professionalism by taking jabs at the Raiders throughout the broadcast. Aren't broadcasters supposed to be impartial? At least the good one's anyway.

I like Fouts broadcasting Raider games. Shows he is still a true Charger to the end.

Unlike some broadcasters Fouts still show he is human and love for the game.

I hope Romo follows his footsteps and shows favor for them Cowboys.

Ecstatic he did not come to Houston - time to groom a franchise QB from the draft. The vets have not stepped up to the challenge.

I'd have liked to see him get a ring somewhere, even though I've always been a Cowboy hater he's always one of those guys I've rooted for. Two games come to mind, the Washington game he played with a broken back and the shootout with Manning and the Broncos a few years ago, the latter being one of my favorite games of all time.

    IMHO
On air, Aikman is pretty balanced as far as the announcing goes with the Cowboys. But, you know he's still and always will be a Cowboy. I'm sure Romo will be the same way.
