Hello all,
I have not been keeping up with High rez music. I was wondering what the top software everyone is using to day is? Is it still J River? Or Pure Music?

Roon is supposed to be top notch, but expensive. I don't use it because of the price and am happy with JRiver which keeps getting updates.

+1 on Jriver here unless you go with a streamer like the Microrendu or Aries. They work nice, sound better then a laptop and just run off a nas.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Just started with Roon over the last few weeks and so far it has been my go-to. Love that it makes everything (local, network music and streaming services) look like one big library."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

Roon is Great! I started with it about a month ago. I couldn’t believe how easy it was to set-up and instantly arrange and sync all my music library. I also like how it automatically makes Flac the preferred version over MP3 (which I only use for the phone and boat). Direct ethernet connection to the DAC is also a big improvement in SQ._____________________________________________________________________________________________

Yes for me the big thing about roon is that it integrates my flac library with tidal seamlessly. Second big thing is the radio function which draws on your library and will play similar artists to the album you just played: this often plays things inhavevlon forgotten about, since it draws on anything you’ve liked in tidal. Last, I like that it decodes MQA. I know whether that’s an advantage is controversial, but I like having it as an option. And all the little things, like artist profiles, album rating and reviews, similar artists, is all icing on the cake for me.
At $10 a month I do think it’s expensive, and if jriver would integrate tidal and roon I would give it a try. The one thing that bugs me is that I can’t use it on more than one computer. I have one tidal license, and I can’t listen to tidal on more than one device at a time, but I can have the software downloaded on as many devices as a want and just use one at a time. Why not roon???Living Room 2.2: Usher BE-718 "tiny dancers"; Dual DIY Dayton audio RSS210HF-4 Subs with Dayton SPA-250 amps; Arcam SA30; Musical Fidelity A308; Sony UBP-x1000es
