Hello all,
For the sheer hell of it I installed my Marantz DV7600 back into my system. It's been sitting for years. So I connected it with a Audioquest HDMI X 2m HDMI cable for video and for SACD and DVD AUDIO I connected VIA Audioquest analog to the 6 channel in on my Pioneer SC-99 AVR.
I set it up to 720p over HDMI and calibrated the 6 channel in.
I ran some DVD AUDIO using Olivia Newton John's Magic and it was really nice. I also watched Gone in 60 seconds on DVD and man how times have changed. The Audio was nice but the video was flat and lack luster. When you use to 1080p and Blu ray movies boy does DVD fail in comparison.
I plan on doing some A B shootout stuff against my Pioneer Elite BD-62FD that is still in my system until I get an Oppo or I shall see what Pioneer and Sony brings out this year.
What else can you do on a Snowy day off?
