SDA SRS 2.3tl fully modded cherry panels

I purchased these from the original owner who really took great care of them. After fully upgrading them, I decided to keep them because I actually liked the imaging a lot better than the big 1.2tl's I had.

Now I have found something that I like better (at many times the price) so here they are. Here is what has been done to them:

New Cherry panels for the top, bottom and sides.
Gimpod crossover boards
Sonicraft caps
Mills resistors
Jazten inductors
Mortite seals
RDO-198 tweeters
All drivers and passive radiators were covered in Dymnamat.
All magnets were expoxied with 3M structural adhesive.
The large inductors were unwound to a true value and isolated from the rest of the crossover which really improved the bass response.
A nice one wire interconnect cable comes with them as well.

I'm asking $1800.00, which is exactly what I have in them. Please don't bother low balling me because I won't respond. I really want these to go to a fellow polkie and avoid the auction sites! They are all set up and ready for an audition.

I have lots more pictures if you want them, just email me. I can be reached at moparnut@twc.com. I'm in Southern Indiana and can help load.

If I had a dedicated two channel room for them. I would sell my 1.2's in a minute and road trip down there to get them. Very beautiful and I am sure they sound as great as they look. GLWYS. Peace. D

It's even worse than it appears:

I moved from Palo alto, California, to New Hampshire in 1997, when I retired.

As ridiculous as it may sound, I actually like the four seasons we get in New England.

We used to get great BBQ in Evansville, but we never liked getting beat up by the Evansville basketball teams -- especially Bosse.

Good luck with your sale. Great speakers that somebody on the Forum should grab quickly.

Location, scarcity and condition and upgrades all factor into value.

Plus who cares what you think.

They are worth what the market dictates. I'd also guess the ones you bought weren't fully modded which brings a WHOLE NOTHER level of value to them.

I'd also guess you bought yours years ago when inflation wasn't what it is now which also adds more to their cost.

And as Ricardo said, you don't agree with the price, move on.

No need to crap on someone else's thread.

hmmm $1,800.....Not bashing on your speakers, but that may be tough.

Expecting to get 100% money back on mods is a tough proposition.
Based on my method of valuation, that seems to work on all the vintage Polks.......

More like $1,200 at best. Do not take this as a knock on your speaker, they look fantastic, but simply its very rare anyone will pay full cost for mods on an older used speaker.

We found a set of the Bigger SRS's, got them for under $1,000

Or....You should just roll your eyes and move on. If someone thinks they are worth it they will buy them. If not, they won't. But this kind of comments in a for sale post are not welcome.

You have any idea of what common sense means?

I was trying to relate my own personal experience in selling and buying modded stuff and the disappointment in not being able to recoup money spent, that meant something to the owner (me) and usually does not carry onto most potential buyers.

Basically saying it sucks that mods are less valued by buyers than sellers.
Sorry you took it to be something negative.

You could have PM'ed me with your concerns or questions about your not understanding my motives.

No discourtesy was intended towards the OP. Hope you are able to honestly say the same to me.

Maybe you could have Pm'd the OP about YOUR concerns.

Although no intent doesn't make it alright to post your concerns in someones for sale thread unless you were making an inquiry to purchase. Again your wanting to be a savior for others came out malicious.
