my Polk R50'S should sound better?

I read some great reviews about the tower speakers. I feel like i'm not getting what their capable of. maybe I'm doing something wrong? does anyone have these speakers and do they hit and sound theater like when watching a movie? i feel like there is no pounding on the subwoofer and no crossover from the sound. i just hear basic tv speakers lol... thank you

Need more info. To start with, what are you powering them with?

Also, what else does your system consist of? The R50 does not have a sub-woofer. You will need a real sub-woofer if you expect any kind of "pounding".
  • i have a denon 7:1 receiver and a polk psw110 200 watts. the subwoofer is great. i just thought the r50's did have a subwoofer due to the reviews. (sorry im somewhat a newbie to this)

You're going to want to get a bigger and better subwoofer to replace that PSW110 to get what you're looking for.

In your receiver menu, make sure the speaker levels are at or near 0. Also, set them to large for a fuller sound. You might see something in the menu like "large + sub". See if that floats your boat more.

Does the AVR have Audyssey & is it enabled? Is it set to Heavy? Medium? Light? Did you use a microphone to calibrate the setup to your room?
