Cast not finding Magnifi Mini

I am trying to use a laptop running chrome to connect to the Magnifi Mini. Cast does not find the device however the Magnifi Mini does show up in my laptop network list. Any ideas?

    Here's their response:
    " The customer needs to set up the MagniFi Mini first on the same network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet) as the laptop. This should be done with a handheld device such as a smartphone or tablet. Once the MagniFi Mini has been set up on the same network as the laptop, the MagniFi Mini should show up as an option in a Cast supported app or website."

    Hi, You need to use the cast set up app to get it on your WiFi. It should mention this in the quick start guide. The app is for android and iOS devices. Once it is set up it should work from your laptop.

    That would be fine but Magnifi mini does not show up on my Android using the google home app so I can set it up.
