Sub sounds like there is a bb in it. SB5000 soundbar

I have a SB5000 soundbar and the sub started making a rattling noise. With the power off I removed the 4 screws holding the speaker in the sub box. When I shake the speaker it sounds like a bb is loose inside. Actually to me it sounds like a blob of solder is in the speaker.
I don't know if it's under warranty. It was a gift.
Model SB5000 IHT Subwoofer
Serial AM1502A5490
Lot 3073143
We have been using it for less than a year. I have a teenage son, so my first guess is the idiot blew the speaker when I wasn't at home.
Can I buy a replacement speaker? Or would someone be able to tell me if it is covered by warranty or if there was a bad production run on that lot number?
I absolutely love this sound bar! I would like to fix it.
Thanks

Hello,
Welcome to Polk's forum. Probably the best way to determine the status of your warranty would be through Polk's CS department available at: 1-800-377-7655 select option 1. It would be helpful if you had the unit's serial number and place and date of purchase handy when you call. I believe they have weekend hours from 10:00am until 6:00pm eastern time.
