Adding 2nd Cross Over board to SRS

I have a pair of the 8 woofer, 4 tweeter SRS's with the big and little blade interconnect. I'm in the process of rebuilding them. They are not a basket case presently however. I need to add a second crossover deck above the original one in order to gain more real estate for the bypass caps. I've seen this done by replacing the original 4 nylon clip mounts (that mount the original board) with risers so that they run through the 4 holes on the original board and continue up another 1.5" or so so that another thin board can be mounted to make a 'double decker' layout. I need some tips on how to attach the risers to the 4 holes in the inductor because on the back side of the holes is the inductor wire! So how do I get something to stick down in the little hole? Nylon all-thread maybe? Advice appreciated!

I use M4 SS or Nylon Cap Screws on the underside of spool, 12mm M4 Nylon Standoffs on top.
I also attach the riser to the outer spools for strength and rigidity.

Thanks! Closer inspection does show that the hole is outside the diameter of the windings, so that makes it easier. Do you just use a long screw and slide the nylon spacers over the screw? I'll have to go to Lowe's and see what they have in the fastener drawers. Maybe your 'riser' is threaded? That would also allow for the screw in the top which holds on the riser board.

The Nylon spacers are all internally threaded, M4 thread size.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Okay, I looked more closely at that inductor underneath the center of the cross over board. The nylon 'clips' ARE embedded behind the windings! In other words, when I look from the side toward the windings I don't see the little cone shaped expansion clip because it is behind some windings. How do I remove it and get a screw in there up through the hole? Does it require unwrapping a couple of layers of windings and then wrapping them back after I get the screw up through the hole?

I've never seen the clip in or behind the windings. I've always been able to get the old ones out, and usually just enough room to get the new screws in place. Tread carefully, you don't want to short or damage the coil.Home Theater/2 Channel:

Given that I could not get a screw up into the holes on the center inductor, I have purchased Erse inductors and plan to unwind the stock inductors and simply use the empty spool as a mounting stand for the crossover boards.
