...funerals in freezing rain suck.
I know none of you know Dick Werkley but aside from my own father, he was one of the most influential people in my life when I was a kid. He deserves to be remembered because of the impacts he had on so many people.
So, y'all do me a solid and pour one out for me for Dick Werkley today.
He's being laid to rest today.
He was one of my scoutmasters when I was a kid. For 12 to 15 years of my life he was an important part of it. Mr. Werkley, Mr. Monet and my dad pretty much ran my scout troop and are the reasons we got so much out if it.
He was a dad, a husband, a veteran, a leader and reliable.
He didn't always rub people the right way but he was always there, helping and doing things for others without concern for himself. He was a good guy and he impacted very many lives.
He's being laid to rest today in this miserable freezing rain weather but I honestly couldn't think of any other way he would have had it.

On My Honor. I will do my best to do my duty. To God and My Country. To obey the Scout Law. To help other people at all times. To keep myself physically stong, mentally awake and morally straight.
