iCONN speaker connectors

Well after using Russman's MIT-6 speaker cables during the bottlehead meet at my house, I had to get some of those quick change connectors. Low and behold they sell them on the MIT site. So, if you ever change speakers around, here is the ticket. You can buy solder on posts but I opted for the solderless (cheaper) with some bananas and spades. Just screw on whatever you need. WAY COOL !

Way cool. By any chance do they have pins too. That's what messes with me the most. Even my Mac needs pins.Make it Funky!

The ICONN connector doubles as a pin. Notice the indentation on the shaft, right after the threads?

MIT is what will be on the 2CH rig for me. I have liked them for a long time.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint. -
I made a set of coax cross connect speaker cables using the MIT connectors.

I like the adjustability of the MIT brand, it's neat to have that option, should gear changes occur. Nice cables WW, always a pleasure to see some DIY work.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Great looking work there WardsWeb. Are there 2 lengths of coax inside that sleeve?Make it Funky!

yes, RG-178 plenum grade teflon cover coax. Had it laying aroun, so thought I would give it a try. Two cables, twisted together, the center conductor of each soldered to the shield of the other cable.

While I love MIT cables and the ICONN connectors, there are some folks who don't like the ICONN's because they can come loose, which they can. This problem is easily solved however by using a little Loc-tite on the threads.Political Correctness'.........defined

I joined this forum in December of '04 and I got my first set of MIT speaker cables today after purchasing some ICs earlier in the week, here on the forum, from @dagame27. Man oh man, time can be funny. lol. you
I love the ease with which I can swap out the connectors. I will say that you want to have some room behind the speakers because the cables that come out of the box are kind of stiff plus you have to leave room for the box, itself, behind the speaker.Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro
