My "new" Ushers
As you may have seen in the FS thread where I bought them, my Usher Mini Dancer 2 arrived on Thursday. Very little time to listen until yesterday. I haven't spent any time with setup other than toeing them in slightly. I started out with them on my Rotel RX-1050 and the sound was better than I expected, but I knew I could do better. I moved in the Plinius 9100 for an immediate upgrade. I'm currently running my Parasound P5 with my Parasound HCA 750A amp. Obviously not enough amp for these speakers, but it ain't bad. Performs better than it should in my opinion. Next up I'll use the Plinius as an amp with the P5 as the pre. I imagine I'll eventually settle on the P5 as my pre- with another amp, but we'll see. I honestly haven't listened enough to decide if I prefer the Plinius or the P5/750A combo better.
These are obviously the best speakers I've ever owned...and my wife agrees that they are a beautiful speaker, so that's a bonus. I fell in love with these speakers when I heard Marvin's, but he had much better gear up the line, so I was a little afraid of being disappointed. I'm not. I'm amazed at how these rather large speakers disappear in my living room. The soundstage is large, the separation is fantastic, the bass is tight and controlled, and the DMD tweeter is pretty decent
Overall, I couldn't be happier, especially knowing that they will only get better as I get better gear in front of them, if I choose to do so.
Thanks to Skip and Marvin for getting me in front of a pair of these and to Ben for selling me his pristine pair at a great price. And yes, the speakers are playing now and I have a smile on my face as I type every word.

Yeah the Dancers are one speaker I think I could get my wife to stomach the looks of enough to upgrade to them from my LSi's however that would be a pricey scenario...
For now I'm just going to stay with my smaller Ushers and whenever I get a "real" 2 channel setup going to look to step up to something like those, or even if I can find a deal of a lifetime like skip, a set of those."....not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." These are gorgeous speakers, I had the pleasure to see a pair sitting in a closet, and they are quite large. I may have a chance to borrow a pair of these from a friend. I can't wait to get my ears on these, I've heard great things and not just on this forum either. Congrats on the new speakers!

Your listening room would love these IMHO. Only suggestion would be to have acoustic panels at first reflection but then you would be golden2-channel: Modwright KWI-200 Integrated, Dynaudio C1-II Signatures

Wow! Very nice room bud! Agreed on the sneaking them out, my s/o barely noticed, then one day..."What are they doing waaaay out here"? A glass of fine brandy in hand I said "Deal with it"! Now I'm single...J/K, he loves them and is very understanding of my sick hobby. The biggest problem was having the huge black amp between the speakers. I'm looking to get a bigger TV, but not for this room. It will go in my game room/media room.
