Geoff was a drummer and grow up in Baltimore and was into old time Jazz big time. And talked about a place called "The Famous Ballroom" where he was exposed to Count Basie, Monk, and Coltrane. I got all my Bill Evans SACD from him too.
He was provided a scholarship to go to Peabody Conservatory at 14 (Frank Zappa had a Ph.D. from Peabody).

Rest in Peace G-2. May his family find peace without him.
Here are lyrics from a song that I heard for the first time last week. This song definitely make me think and I am thankful for my almost 20 years beyond those of G-2. Its a good message for all of us.
"Everybody Dies Young"
We're all kicking, we're all screaming
We're all sleeping at the wheel
We're all California dreaming
Playing house and paying bills
We're all going through the motions
Just following the script
If we don't stop and smell the ocean
Boys, we might just miss our ship
Every last heart breaks when the summer snapshot fades
Every teenage kiss ends way too soon
It don't matter how long we're here
It's never gonna be long enough
It ain't about the amount of years
It's about the amount of love
It don't matter if you're 18, 45 or 91
We're all waiting for our moment in the sun
Everybody dies young
Oh yeah, everybody dies young
From the moment that we're born
Yeah, we start running out of sand
You can't bargain with the mirror
You can't ever fight the hands of
Time flies by like the 4th of July sky
When the morning sun high fives the moon
It don't matter how long we're here
It's never gonna be long enough
It ain't about the amount of years
It's about the amount of love
It don't matter if you're 18, 45 or 91
We're all waiting for our moment in the sun
Everybody dies young
Oh yeah, everybody dies young
You only get one life, so you gotta live it
You only get one heart, so you better give it
You only get one life, so you gotta live it up
You only get one heart, so you gotta get to giving it up
It don't matter how long we're here
It's never gonna be long enough
It ain't about the amount of years
It's about the amount of love
It don't matter if you're 18, 45 or 91
No matter what we do, we're never done
Everybody dies young
Oh yeah, everybody dies young

Hi Walter,
Just got them in, and they're installed in my system. The EarthQuake Cinova, doesn't have ANY problem powering these guys, though they like power. My initial thoughts are that they sound very neutral and provide far more up front then the LSi9's I had up front. I've currently got the plugs in the holes in the back and they're really providing a well rounded sound. I'm also quite fond of the center, though I don't have the plug in that one.
It will take me a month or so to tell you my thoughts about them. I prefer them to any of the LSi's I've had up front. I'll let you know in a month or so, more like or so, as I'm having a complete knee replacement on my right knee in early september so it might be more like a couple of months but I have to say even listening to them now I'm really pleased with the way they sound.
Also there was a 3/4 inch screw in one of the boxes but it didn't penetrate the packaging. Please LMK if there is anything I can do for you down here in Fl!
Talk to you soon.
Best Regards and Thanks,
Geoff

Geoff,
Good to hear they arrived safe and that you are liking them so far. That's weird about the screw in the box. Both were emptied and repacked, I have no idea where that came from? Anyway, sit back and enjoy the music man during your downtime. All the best with your surgery.

Thanks Walt, the screw was through the OUTSIDE box, amazing!

Hi Walt,
I just wanted to drop a line and say thanks again for the Chanes. I've moved them into the HT setup and I've managed to locate a pair of A1rx-c's and they will handle rear speaker duty in the HT (5.2). I've used the plugs on the two fronts as I've got a pair of M&K subs and have the system setup to roll everything below 80hz to the subs (the subs each have on board 1k watt amps). The center channel does not have the plug in it. The Cinova Grande 5 ch is driving them well with plenty of power to spare. These have a neutral sound and cause no fatigue during extended listening. The highs are very clean without being metalic (if that makes sense), and they supply direct mids and full lows. I have let go the LSi's for these and couldn't be more pleased with the change. I've also found that they work extremely well in my room (which is not the greatest room for HT). The setup works flawlessly whether you're watching a Counting Crows Show, Movie, Series, whatever, these speakers have no problem, putting it out if you will. Almost forgot to mention, my wife loves the way they look and sound (probably in that order).
I've also started running a two channel setup for the good stuff. I managed to grab the RTA 12c's that Stan (soundfreak1) completely modded, and they're amazing. I'm listening to the 2 channel set up 85% if the time as I'd rather be listing to music, when she gets home she prefers the HT and that's what we generally watch when she's here...
Tomorrow is the knee replacement, pretty psyched for it!
Best Regards and Thanks,
Geoff

Your setup look very nice! Again I'm glad you're enjoying them. My experience was the same in terms of the composure of the speakers. I once almost had my AVR up to about 90% and the Chanes had no audible distortion.
Best of luck with the surgery!
Walt
