I got the itch....

For some Rogue gear....tubed separates. There is something about gear made in the USA which appeals to me, since everything these days is made offshore. I'm thinking a used Atlas magnum amp and Metis magnum pre.....or possibly a Pharaoh integrated. Any Rogue experiences out there to share folks?

I've got a Magnum 66. I've never laid eyes on it. Bit I have one, none the less.

    I got the itch....

Too bad there's not an ointment cream you can get to cure that, would be a lot cheaper than "feeding the monkey."

I am with you, I bought 2 amps I really did not need this weekend, although I am going to keep one because it is awesome. Now I need to sell the one it replaced and the other that failed the audition. My monkey is so bad for tying up so much money I had to spank it.

Had a Silk Audio (Yaqin) MC 100 for about a year that in my opinion did not pair well at all with my SDA 1c's. Sold that and tried a used Jolida JD1000. Within 2 weeks I returned that. There was nothing I liked about it. Now have a Rogue Cronus Magnum II that I really like. Pairs well with the 1c's. It still needs some burn in time, but I am happy with it. I am sure at some point I will get the "itch" again and will want to try separate tube gear.

The Cronus Magnum is also on the list, since they can be had easily on the used market. How much heat does the thing give off....out of curiousity

I don't think the Cronus Magnum puts out anymore heat than the other 2 amps I had. Next time I have it on I will try to check the heat level around it.

I'm very pleased with my M-180 monos.
The only drawback is in the summer . . . 8 KT120s generate a lot of heat!
