New member with new to me SDA-1 speakers

Hi guy's. New member here. I didn't see a welcome forum so I hope posting here is OK. I just got a great deal,AFAIK, on a pair of SDA-1 speakers for $50 on CL and I figured this would be the best place {obviously] to get some info on them. They work perfectly and just need the side panels glued or nailed back on since time has dried up the original glue and they are coming off. If someone could point me in the right direction to ask questions about them t hat would be great. Thanks for any help. Tom.

Welcome to the forum, you are in the right spot. As far as your questions go, I would glue only and just enough to do the job. You can look around and see the many upgrades available for your Polks. Feed them good clean power and enjoy the ride. Also you should epoxy your mid woofers A.S.A.P look around here for more info on that topic.

Thanks RandyCroissant. I will use glue for the panels. I was going to use my Onkyo m-504 anp but I see that the speaker need a common ground amp and I don't know if the Onkyo is common ground or not. It is a dual monaural design and from what I am finding usually Dual monaural amps are not common ground. I need to find out for sure so I don't smoke something. If anyone here reading this knows that info I would appreciate any help. Thanks. Tom.

Here I thought I was the only one to get full size SDA speakers for $50. We are very lucky dudes. Welcome to the forum and as many will tell you get your read on 1st w/ the SDA Handbook and then if you decide there are a multitude of mods that bring the speakers into the 21st century and on wards. Polk can supply drivers (if bad) and tweeters a must (vast improvement) among other things and mechanical mods any guy could do at home.
Hey I just about did them all w/ the exception of the x-overs. Lots to look over and take your time.....This is how they turned out.

Thanks for all the advice guy's. I just got 2 panels glued back on and will do the other 2 tomorrow. From what I have found out so far It looks like I will be fine using my Onkyo to power them up. Left Winger 57 I guess we are in the exclusive $50 club.
