Creating an RCA cable

Here's the connects I just made using ordinary guitar cable and nickle plated Switchcraft RCA ends.
Years ago, I hooked up a cheap VCR to my TV using a 10 ft. single standard type RCA cable. (I wanted to watch my Planet of the apes VHS collection)
The picture was quite snowy and I chaulked it up to my crappy player.
Just for jollies, I made up a replacement cable just like the one here and the picture improved quite a bit.
There's no virgin, cryogenicly oxidized, plutonium infused copper involved, just plain old steel cable, with a very good outside weave going on.
All the ones I just made for my stereo set up are about 18" long, so I'm not too worried about signal loss.......Oh and they cost 7 dollars each.
