Man, I've got that itch again!

Just saw the Parasound 2125 is on sale and I've been wanting one to serve the game room and the deck speakers. But I promised the Mrs the kitchen will finally get done this year. I'll be in the doghouse if I buy an amp before the kitchen sees new everything. If I wasn't so damn honest I would buy it and store it for awhile. Maybe, just maybe she won't notice the 2125...it sorta/kinda looks like a HCA1000.. no?
Yep, my name really is Bob.
Parasound HCA1500A(indoor sound) and HCA1000(outdoor sound), Dynaco PAS4, Denon DP1200 w/Shure V15 Type V and Jico SAS stylus, Marantz UD7007, Polk L600, Rythmik L12 sub.

Yea, no kidding! I could do some serious audio upgrades on what this kitchen is gonna run me! I can't believe the kitchen was my idea too.

I find it easier to just be upfront. We, my wife and I, have an understanding. Nothing that is purchased will be a surprise to the other. The last thing I want to find out about is a $1500 pair of shoes after the purchase. It works very well for us and she usually tells me to go ahead.

We are the same, she never offers where the $$ will come from though! I think she'll miss the counter top if I buy the amp.

Id do the kitchen & worry about the amp for the game room down the road.

Dont lie to her, your kitchen will leave you right along with the rest of the house.
  • My wife pays absolutely no attention to what gear I have at any given time...I bet you could get away with it.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

So, she comes home from work today and says if she keeps working(she had planned to go semi-retired at year end) maybe we should think about a new vehicle.....hmmmm. I'm thinking no vehicle, go semi-retired and an amp for the kitchen :)

I have little doubt she would notice a different amp as long as it is black...explaining the UPS delivery could be something else though.

If you do it, get a bigger amp.
    Never sneak anything small!
