hello everyone. I have it on good report from lightman, an old compatriot and fellow instigator, enabler, and journeyman of ill repute that I should join this esteemed forum.
looking forward to spending time here getting to know the ropes.
i'm an old audio guy who got hooked in the '70s and continue to enjoy the audio hobby!

Welcome to the clubOh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

What, you mean you're supposed to listen to all this junk?

He's built like a silverback gorilla. That's what we call him.
-
It's only funny because it's true. If Russ and I are in the same room it's like a silverback and a Wookie have escaped and are on the run. Small children tend to hide behind the hem of their mothers' skirts. You get used to it.

He knows his way around a kitchen, Tony. I keep tellin him, "If it wasn't for that ONE thing about you, I'd marry you." Then it's a punch to my ribs and a hellatious stew or some form of dead animal on a plate.
-
LMAO !!
02GUY has a sense of humor at least, that will carry him far around here.
Mark, judging by that room, your not enjoying the other 3 things I mentioned. Shame too....because you can have all 4 in that one room.HT SYSTEM-

Yep. Many a night of alcohol fueled banter have passed twixt us.
-
Thanks Tony and everyone!
as a sort of introduction I thought i'd throw a few pics of some of my gear on here.
I mostly have vintage stuff that I've found on the cheap and needs a little work.
as for my position on vinyl:
"until Robert Plant caves in and led zeppelin reunites to play in my den, vinyl rules"
that being said, I have and still buy cd's, except most digital purchases are now in hi-res. yes, speaker cabling is important, but I just get the best I can afford.
i'll have to ask for a prayer for judgement on emotiva ( if I have any of those left. I seem to have used several in my youth.)
i'll answer B about the polk site but I suspect D will come into play in the near future.
and if commit some egregious etiquette error, please forgive the noob! -
oh, and yes the milk crates are temporary until I finish building proper stands.
-
Hey! I've seen that stuff!
-
oooh, he's got a suckface Luxman!
-
yeah russ, but now its all working! well, mostly.
