Anyone ever hear/see these?

I know it's early or late depending on goth hours or regular human hours. I sa these going for %50 obo for a set of Magnavox Crapet Speakers. Now I have heard of Magnavox in big consoles but not as stand alone speakers Doc Hardy might know of these and if really cheap are they worth the gas and effort.

This particular flavor of Maggotbox loudspeakers -- I've never seen.
Except for their 'conversation piece' value, it's kind of hard to believe they're worth investing much effort into (to say nothing of plunking down fifty smackers for them).

Just an opinion, though; not fact-based :-)

Quite a confluence of speaker design philosophies coming together for sure. Would make a big contribution to a mid-century modern museum display.

if these were in the local GW for 29.99 or so I might try them for kicks.
I can see the paper tweets and they are just o.k. I drag my Altec 886a's
out every once in a while and they have the similar tweets.
It would be a labor of love to fine tune the sound, but could be easily
done.

Thoes look.....hmm not sure how to describe it but I think if they were really close I'd pick them up for $50. Neat looking I guess? I wonder when and where they were made.

They look pretty neat actually. Appear to have a rear firing Mid for reflected/ambient sound. Doubt there will be much bass with the open back.

They have panache, fo' sho.

... and nothing wrong with a good cone tweeter (despite their being long out of fashion), either.

Still... fifty Samoleums? Maybe if they were in my neighborhood.
I'm still thinking 20-30 greenbbacka-dolla would be about as far as I'd want to go.

For some reason, I'm thinking they were taken out of an old Magnavox console stereo.

Evidently someone wanted them. By the time he got back to me they were gone. I was never going to pay $50 for those and you all know I don't need speakers but maybe some upgrades in the source dept is in the works. I passed on a stunning Dual tt for $85 but since vinyl isn't my got to tunes I passed.
