Which Polks do I have, and which tweeter should I get?

Hi, I'm new to this forum. I decided to pull out my old Polks to use as studio monitors for recording and mixing music. I found out that one (at least) of my tweeters is shot. I bought these Polks in about 1982. I doubt that I have the instructions any more. Can anyone give me a hand with identification? Advice on tweeter replacement would also be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hello @theduke247 , wecome to the forum. Looks like to me you have a pair of Monitor 10As with peerless tweeters. They are great tweets so you mite want to consider checking the fuse on the back side first. They should be 1 amp fast blow fuses. Also check where the fuses snap in for corrosion. This is a great community and the team is hugely knowledgeable. You'll fine tons of help and advice here for sure.2ch rig: Speakers: Magnepan LRS w/Magna Riser stands Preamplifier: Parasound P5 Amplifier: Parasound A23 CDP: Pioneer DV-563A Cables: Wireworld Equinox 7 XLR ICs, Wireworld Ultraviolet 7 USB, AudioQuest Q2s, AudioQuest NRG X(preamp)

Thanks @HzTweaker. I remember checking the fuse and thought it was okay, but I will check it again. I did not look for corrosion.

You may want to try swapping the tweeters between cabinets to make sure it is not something else. If you need to replace it you will have to search for a spare that a member may have available or check the bay. Only option for new would be Peerless clones sod by Midwest Speaker. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome aboard. As others have suggested, spray the fuse holder with electrical contact cleaner and rotate the fuse in the holder to distribute the product.
If there's absolutely no sound coming from the tweeter after trying that, remove the fuse and install a small piece of speaker wire. If there's still no sound, you can swap out tweeters, however, DO NOT unsolder the wires from the metal tabs on the tweeter! If you do that, the metal tab will fall off and the tweeter will be ruined....ask me how I know Instead, cut the wire about 6 inches from the tweeter and splice in the wires from there.SDA SRS 2.3TL's

Welcome to CP. You can also remove the screws on the suspect tweeter, and check it with a multi-meter. The Peerless had a relatively high DC Resistance, around 8 ohms.Home Theater/2 Channel:
