Both are made by MIT.
Both are AVT1.
Both are 75 ohm.
Both are triple shielded.
Both feature gas-injected PE insulation.
Both feature solid-core silver clad/plated center conductor.
Am I missing something here?
Thanks

Yes, the digital cable has micro networks in the RCA housing.Political Correctness'.........defined

Side question - I ordered one of these months ago, and haven't tired it yet, as it arrived with a discolored center pin. Looked heat stressed, probably from the soldering process. It cleaned up a bit with some Deoxit, but still discolored.
Looking closely at these photos, it looks as though these cables may have it, too.
Will this be a problem? I can't really tell whether the plating is affected.I disabled signatures. -

It sounds very good in my set up, paired with the matching AVT1 speaker cables. I have the AVT2 going from my preamp to the amp. I also have the T2, which are running from my CD/SACD to the pre and I did try them between the pre & the amp but I preferred the AVT2 > T2.
I think the AVT2 2M Composite Video cable is a ridiculously good value. The package shows a price tag of $135.Audio: Polk S15 * Polk S35 * Polk S10 * SVS SB-1000 Pro

Mit had the digital one on their specials a few months ago for like 60 or 70% off. You should sign up for the close out or discount emails. I picked one up and that's what I am running. It sounds good especially for the $ I picked it up at.Klipsch The Nines, Audioquest Thunderbird Interconnect, Innuos Zen MK3 W4S recovery, Revolution Audio Labs USB & Ethernet, Border Patrol SE-I, Audioquest Niagara 5000 & Thunder, Cullen Crossover II PC's.

Mine looked darkened/blued. It cleaned up a bit with Deoxit, but now it looks almost as if the plating has faded.
Neither of you guys' cables looks like this?

No, mine does not.
You could order another one just to check it out but I don't know if you need more than one or if the discoloration has any impact on sound quality.
Was your cable brand new and sealed in the original packaging?I ordered one of these months ago.

yeah, new from the MIT Clearance Center; wasn't labeled demo or anything. mine seems to look like the ones in the photos you posted, if you look closely at the pins in those photos.
I have a set of S3 IC's with one channel dropping out, and have been meaning to send them in for inspection and repair. I was planning to send this coax in along with them.

From the specs on the package, the center conductor is silver plated while the outside ring is most likely gold plating. That's something I've been trying to research a little more here lately. When looking at speaker terminations, as well as IC's, it appears that silver is the better conductor and most say it offers a superior sonic fingerprint, but, what does a protective coating do to it? I noticed that the Furutech, or maybe Furez, offers a Rhodium plated termination. Wonder what that adds, or takes away, sonically? Aside from the obvious sonic differences between yellow packaging versus orange packaging.
Maybe this isn't the place for it, but, if anyone has insight I'd be interested in hear it. -
I have a number of these MIT cables, they don't sound great.
I think they were really good at being Component cables.B&W CM9Classé Sigma -

I've always wanted to try one of the well liked Black Cat Veloce cables, but they were hard to find when I was looking last, and for as much as I'd like to try the new Red Level stuff out, it's a bit out of budget for me.I disabled signatures. -
Thanks, msg, interesting read. Love the way folks are quick to offer info and experiences here. This passion truly takes you down a rabbit hole! It can make you crazy at times and I have to stop and ask myself if I'm really hearing what I think I am, or, am I getting caught up in hype. Lots of trial and error...and money...and time...and
