Polk LF14 as HT subwoofer

Hi all,
I'm thinking of using my using my vintage Polk's in a HT setup.
Can I use a stereo amp to power my LF14 speaker as a subwoofer?
I was thinking of using a cable from my HT receiver sub out to an input on a stereo amp and connecting speaker cables from the stereo amp to the Left/Right inputs of the LF14 in a center channel configuration.
Additionally I'd like to know how much power I can use? The specs show 10-150w per channel, but I'm unclear if using a single LF14 speaker with both L/R connected means 150w or 300w total?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Peter

The LF 14 isn't really a subwoofer, more like a bass module. It's a Monitor 10 without the tweeter.
It will handle 150 watts per channel from a stereo ampHome Theater/2 Channel:

Thanks for your response westmassguy.
Can you help me understand it a bit more?
I realise it predates subwoofers as we know them.
If it's powered externally and goes down to 24Hz, can't it perform as a subwoofer. I guess what confuses me is that most of the cheap new subwoofers don't go anywhere near 24Hz, your lucky if they get down to 35Hz.
I'm really not trying to be smart, I'm just trying to get my head around it.
Thanks again -
The frequency response listed for the LF14 is 24-200Hz. No other parameters are given, such as -3db limits. This was most likely done for marketing purposes.
The Monitor 10 lists the -3db at 37 Hz, which is a good deal higher.
The LF14's -3db is probably about the same.
It will still be producing deep bass, but at a lower level.
Without accurate testing equipment, there's no way to tell how rapidly the bass rolls off.

Thanks for that explanation, it's starting to make a bit more sense now.
Thanks also for the offer, I think I have a copy of it. -
I would see this more as a "bass module" to be used with smaller left and right speakers.
After all, it is in reality, a 6.5" woofer for each of left and right only.
It power ability would naturally be limited, as would bass extension.
There was another bass module Polk made, that went with the early Satellite speakers in the 80's but it was somewhat smaller.
