Sorry to derail, but how's the new house and business rolling Paul?
I guess I can contribute to the derail since I bought the speakers. The move has been good so far. Business is good. I'll just be glad when I know more and am more confident in handling any situation that arises. I know it will come eventually, the learning curve is just a little steeper than I anticipated. It's good though.
I love the outdoors of our new house, but the inside kind of stinks for music/ht. I've downgraded listening areas with every move I've made. Go figure.
I now know that a Plinius 9100 can really drive a set of Atrium outdoor speakers A bit overkill maybe??
I also know what a difference the room can make. My system that I used to love is darn near unlistenable in my new game room. Wood floors, 5 windows, open to the dining/kitchen
The Pioneers will be in my bedroom. Oddly enough my wife requested a system in the bedroom, but I had no small-ish speakers. These should fit the bill nicely. I'll report back with my thoughts. I only wish that I've heard the stock version so that I could give a comparison.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
Couple of things:
1) Thanks to Jesse for not shipping these via polkfarmboy's FedEx guy. The box looks in as good of shape as when they left. Also a public thank you for getting them shipped so quickly.
2) These are waaaay better than what I just paid. I hooked them up to my system where the 703's currently reside with no real expectations. WOW! These things give the 703 a run for the money in this particular system. The 703 are obviously a better speaker and sound much better when the gear upstream is better, but these babies are singing on my Rotel RX 1050 stereo receiver and my Rotel RCD-1072 CDP. Much better, tighter bass than I would have experienced with such a small speaker. Vocals are clear and separation is pretty impressive. All in all, a huge bang for buck purchase.
Very happy with my purchase at this point. Thanks again Jesse.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
Glad you're liking the speakers Paul, I'm probably going to regret selling them.Political Correctness'.........defined
