Looking forward to them. Next week we will know if it is a boy or a girl, we begin the second trimester next week as well.

The little guy is about the size of my thumb now, just a bit smaller, but already he has all his limbs and fingers. Life is an amazing thing.

Here it is, 3am and I'm awake with my daughter Toots (not her given name). She was screaming her arse off, had **** up her back, and is now indulging 4oz of the finest gas relief formula.

    Enjoy!

Keep this in mind, think of the best system you've ever heat multiple that by 100000000000 that's the sound you will hear when the child says papa or daddy for the first time.

^Or when away on a business trip "daddy, when you coming home, i missss youss".....

You guys are blowing smoke up his rear end about parenthood. :) Yeah, those words will melt your heart....but don't forget the other words.

Dad, it wasn't my fault the car went threw the garage wall.

Dad, the cop stopped me for no reason.

    Dad, it wasn't my beer.

    Dad, don't worry about those **** tattoo's, he's a really nice guy....and we're going camping.

Dad, I didn't cut school, just failed to raise my hand during attendance roll call.

    Dad, I need money.

Dad, so and so's parents give them way more money than that.

Dad, the principle at school has it in for me.

Clean my room ? Don't be ridiculous.

Those scratches on your new car are not from my bike in the garage.

Funny thing is, no matter the bad junk that comes out of their mouths, one good sentence makes it all go away.....especially with girls to fathers. Boys is another story.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this before, but the gas relief/upset tummy drops you can buy at Walgreens/CVS are good, but expensive. When you have a baby that is crying at 2 am, though, expense is no object. Been there, done that.
BUT: a cheaper and as effective (if not more so) solution is to ask the pharmacist for some coke syrup. Unless he/she is fresh out of pharm school, they'll know what you're wanting and will be be able to give you a small bottle (with eye dropper).
    Works great.

My son was colic, and his abdomen sounded like world war three. Nothing worked, except Fennel Tea. All the OTC products, advice from the Pharmacist and Pediatrician failed. Fennel tea is a centuries old remedy, and worked like a charm.

Congrats to you both. The first one is a roller coaster ride for sure as you don't know what to expect, the feeding, sleeping times, etc.

The BEST advice I can give you, is make sure the Mrs. is happy and rested. When the baby sleeps, momma sleeps.

My wife pumped alot also so during the night, I stayed up with the baby from about 11PM to 5 AM, if the commander was able to sleep that long, then she took over and I slept from 5am to about 10 am. This gave us both good sleep, she had more, but we were able to get things done during the day without being zombies.

The baby generally sleeps for about 3 hrs between meals but this will gradually lengthen over time but those first 3 weeks to a month are trying and of course all babies are different.

Again, make sure momma can sleep and get blackout shades and/or white noise machine for the baby and prob momma.

This is the one we used, still have 2 of them and were one of the best things we purchased. They seem pricey but believe me, they are worth it.

    Good luck!

Holy scat! You picked the name far earlier than most. H*ll, my 2nd didn't receive her name until 24 hours after birth (born a month early).

That "joy" will ultimately kill you... :D
