Yeah, didn't really intend it that way.

"Appreciation of audio is a completely subjective human experience. Measurements can provide a measure of insight, but are no substitute for human judgment. Why are we looking to reduce a subjective experience to objective criteria anyway? The subtleties of music and audio reproduction are for those who appreciate it. Brock, I was just F-in with ya! I hear you on the "different strokes" thing. I've listened to a few things that were 'supposed' to be the bomb, but to me were just meh...

Just adding it to my MX-1000. I'm not spending thousands on this hobby as that would kill me. But spending a little is no problem. In a short time I've garnered a couple of Yamahas, an emotiva, Harman Kardon, adcom, kenwood and a B&K. Just enjoying playing. Different strokes for different folks.
And that suits me just fine. We all learn at our own pace.

    The red lights are cool.
I have an M-80 and I think it's quite nice. Don't know that I have the ears of some around here, but I like what I've heard from that amp.

I had a beautiful m-60 for several years, and loved it paired with monitor10s. It was VERY clear and detailed. Maybe just a tad thin on the bottom. Acoustic sounds and vocals were stunning on that setup.
Oh, Listen here mister. We got no way of understandin' this world. But we got as much sense of this bird flyin in the sky. Now there is a lot that bird don't know, but it don't change the fact that the world is happening to him all the same. What I am tryin to say is, is that the course of your life, well its changing, and you don't even see it- Forest Bondurant

And I love acoustic sounds and vocals. Have the MX-1000 driving the new 705s at the moment and love the clarity and punch I hear on vocals and acoustics. Music to my ears...for the time being.

After 30 year in this hobby many many amps...from Krell to Parasound have gone thru my living room. Now the tube amps took up most of the shelf space and the only SS amp I decide to keep is MX1000. It is the most musical, tonally true amp I have experienced. Yamaha M amps are all keepers.

Next generation MX-1, however, is not the same story.

I have requested monies to be refunded after @TNHNDYMAN has refused to ship the amp for the last 60 days even after I have emailed and then physically mailed a printed label to him among other problems. I'm sorry things didn't work out.
  • Crap. I'm still waiting on my center speaker. Hope this all gets straightened out.
