no midrange in left rtia9

the a9s are new and were working fine but when i used the audyssey to set the channel level the left channel was 8db lower than the right so i put my ear to the speaker and noticed that the tweeter was working but not the two midranges.there is no distortion at all just no mids .I power them with a crown xls 2502 and have never gone past -20db, any idea what it could be.
