Agreed. I'd be censored, redacted, or banned. Pray, if that is your way, give blood if you can, and emotional support to those who need it.

My wife, two daughters, two grandsons and son-in-law flew to Orlando yesterday afternoon. I know they will not be anywhere near the tragedy but it still brings things closer to home for me.

Prayers for all those involved and their families.

Rougly 8400 US citizens are placed on the terrorism watch list each year. The FBI employs roughly 35000 people. Considering the annual taxpayer investment...is it too much to ask for the FBI to keep tabs on these people. I know the shooter was taken off the list, but politics aside...I think you all get my point.

What would you want the FBI to do? Would the administration support it? probably not. What about his employer who knew of his homophobic and anti-american rants? Are they culpable? They were in fear of being fingered for political incorrectness.

I don't think it's appropriate to dispute "facts" in a thread devoted to honoring those recently slain. Let's let them be buried before we start bickering about their place in history. The whole discussion misses the point.

I think the most painful thing about what happened on Sunday is that despite all the bluster in the media, it's nigh impossible to prevent these sorts of attacks without surrendering a part of our "who we are" or rights we care deeply about, which is why these acts seem to repeat themselves.

For now, may they all RIP.

Call me crazy....but if you don't let them in the door to begin with then you have less for the FBI to watch, no ? After all, it's not Catholics, Southern Baptists, Protestants'....Irish/Italian/polish/Chinese/Koreans/Greeks/Spaniards/Russians/ etc., creating the problems. We know who they are, yet fail to simply admit it or do anything about it. Matter of fact, we fail to even mention who or what it is in this PC world. We refuse to stem the flow, and instead increase it....doesn't make sense to the average citizen who bears the brunt with their lives like in this case.

Tell ya what though, scares me that a security firm is afraid of political correctness and not more so what damage can be done. Common sense has truly gone out the window.

You just took the discussion political.....the fact I am referring to is we spend billions each year on protecting the homeland and this guy was on the radar...and allowed him to purchase firearms....after being interviewed 3 times. Very similar to 9/11....all the hijackers were on the radar so to speak....and look what happened.

This guy was a US citizen and again.....the political slants serve no purpose but to distract us from the fact that the FBI dropped the ball. If we had a Republican President the last 4 or 8 years.....do you really think anything would be different.
Also, there are plenty of domestic terrorism examples based on Christianity or some extreme form of it.....just as there are extreme versions of Islam in the world today.
