Whats up with this?

I finally got a chance to sit down with the Avia callibration disc. yesterday and something has me puzzled!?!
When it goes through the test tone sweeps (FrontL, Center, Front R Rear Right, rear center ect....everything is fine until it gets to the L & R rears. The signal is the same coming out of both speakers at the same time...no seperation at all.
Now, if I just do the test tone on my reciever...the rear channels are split with thier own test tone.
Anyone care to take a stab at this one?
Thanks
Brad

The only thing I can think of is that maybe the receiver is in ProLogic or a DSP mode.Graham

the disk is only 5.1, it does not have 7.1 test tones
Seen on another site it had 6.1, maybe there is a newer version?

I did have it set on PLII. I also tried it in the direct mode. Still only plays one signal through both rear speakers"she had the body of Venus, with arms."

you need to at least have the receiver on DD or DTS, right?
check the Avia disk does it say it is 7.1? I don't think it is.Dodd - Battery Preamp

It needs to be in DD 5.1 My h/k 520 automatically goes to DD when it is present so your avr may not have that functionality but in any case the question I have is, how is your DVD player hooked to your receiver? Do you run analog and digital to your receiver? if so your prologic 2 is doing its job but avia is designed for a DD set up.

Digital run from dvd to rec.

You might want to double check the DVD case, I think you'll find that the Avia disc is for 5.1 channel systems only. I found this site that lists the Avia audio testing specs.
